As it says in the title. To be used to discuss recent developments in /a/, list obnoxious name/tripfags who have sanctions against them, and create organized and consistent policy.Pic related: knowing is half the battle.
First off: this season's shitposting and reverse trolling. The primary target so far has been Jinrui wa Suitai Shimashita, but there was a post in the archives that indicates they want to branch out, possibly to Yuru Yuri. So keep an eye out. The Jinrui shitposting has been mostly contained, which leads me to believe that ALL the shitposting can be contained. Knock on wood.
One of the main problems that I've noticed that's rising is a coordinating shitposting circlejerk that revolves around Nagi, Smoked Cheese, Pork Ranger, MmEw, etc. Apparently Smoked Cheese's tripcode has been leaked, and many people used it to shitpost as much as they can. Not only that, but it seems that they circlejerk on multiple threads about their own shit drama that no one cares about. It would be good to keep an eye over them (particularly I delete all of their posts) since they bring unnecessary particular issues on /a/.
>>1759I use the same policy, when I see them. Current delete-on-sight list for me is:-Porky-Smochi-Nagi-MmEw-KroniAnd some other people who post so rarely that they're not worth mentioning.
An important note about anime-related shitstorms : Do NOT delete them when they happen ( see PSG on christmas, Madoka, Kizumonogatari, Code Geass, etc.). The reason to that is because if you delete them, the community will heavily backfire, and that anime-related shitstorms are an unique part of /a/ and later become fond memories of classic anime moments that will leave their mark on the board. After all, there's a good reason to why /a/ can't forget those CODE GEASS days, right?
>>1761I'd take that with a grain of salt, as they can also be manufactured and end up just hurting the board. Each one should be discussed individually, in my opinion.
>>1762Of course, the new shitstorm must be big enough to deserve such attention from the board, but usually they are mostly harmless in the sense that they don't shit up the board, but they are a representation of /a/ over something unexpected from a relevant anime. Maybe some of them have hurt the board, but fighting agaisnt them might backfire ( see madoka shitstorm that tried to be contained on April ) . The only possible groups that I can see that could be justified by a containment would be "not popular anime" and "popular anime".
Watch out for loli threads, they tend to have nsfw hidden in spoilers. If you see this sort of behavior, contact a mod before acting. If there are no mods on, make sure you only delete or ban request offenders and not the whole thread, unless it is blatant lolikon bait. Also, while most exhentai 'sadpanda' threads are fine, they do have nsfw in them from time to time so just watch out.
>>1760A few more I've been deleting recently because of late night/early morning continuous shitposting:Drill !RemoveRMdIGuroshana !I8yAvkuj9o>>1761These shitstorms have become less and less notable as time has gone on. Certain things that were unacceptable just a few years ago actually thrive at times on /a/; even MAL threads have been getting replies as of late.I think, at times, global rule 6 needs to be applied a bit more and discussion in a meta thread related directly to the board needs to happen (and kept alive) so that newer posters(read: 2010 or later) realize that the quality of their posts needs to improve. I don't think anyone wants what has happened to the other very active boards to happen to /a/; for certain verboten things to become acceptable and have longtime users abandon the board or make the board that much worse as an act of retribution. I only say this because I have seen the quality of posts steadily decline as the number of people (mainly new trips) come to realize that they can 'le epic troll xDDDD' the board by either starting a very obvious troll thread or shitpost in feigned support of a series/meta idea. Sure, this isn't anything new for /a/, but I feel that this summer is especially bad for shitposting with regards to these chucklefucks.
>>1768Guroshana is a guroposter. Pretty sure it's earned del-on-sight status. Seconding your request that Drill Remover get del-on-sight status, it's joining the circlejerk with Nagi and Smochi. As for your second point, I've been trying to continuously enforce a limited form of global 6 in which I delete posts with unacceptable speech (emoticons and chatspeak). A unified interpretation of global 6 backed up with bans could really help the board, I think.
After deleting Kroni/Smochi/Nagi/Drill posts all morning, I'm starting to think that using an autodelete script would really help. Opinions?
The tripfag "Zeruda !!V1M/9QEm5S+" is MmEw. That son of a bitch.
New development: someone's trying to "force" Precure hate on /a/. That is, they post in every thread blaming things on people from the Precure threads. Funny thing is, the style of posting is EXACTLY the same as one guy from the Precure threads, who tries to blame everything on "DMG" or "madfag" or sometimes "David". Ugh.
>>1778It is likely that this person is trying to cause tension within the board and because conversations took place in a precure thread on the archive people are going to assume it's the precure fanbase which sucks. this person is targeting 3 fanbases, Yuru Yuri, Jinrui and precure. Might be likely that his real target is the precure fanbase since it looks like he's trying to throw all the blame on them. I deleted 10-13 Yuru Yuri threads the night after it aired while watching the real fanbase have a 400+ post thread discussing the series for the majority of the night. I'm assuming that nobody left that thread to make more threads because why would you? lol, so just a heads up and little expansion this.
>>1779I think he's one of the 3-4 guys who hijacked the Precure threads and turned them into circlejerks and shitposting. So he IS a Precure fan, but he deserves to be excised from their threads as well.
New spam pattern: a copypaste of an article about one "Mr. Imagawa". It's one of the most benign I've seen, compared to shit like epic new meme and btw I'm a girl and XDDDDDD. It ought to blow over pretty quickly.
Regarding this thread:http://archive.foolz.us/a/thread/68036892/I think the Saten-chan/Kevin-kun/Drew/Mordin(?) circlejerk has gone a little too far. I suggest that they receive temp bans and a request that they use other internet features to chat in the place of /a/. If mods agree, I'll link to them sometime. Also, requesting that we implement the policy of banning people for replying to Kroni. He's getting out of hand.
>>1785Other janitor here. I support this, while I think these people could be good posters on /a/ they are instead trying to use /a/ has a social gathering point instead of sticking to the MSN groups that they have already made. When you're posting on /a/ it's supposed to be about anime, not how your social life is suffering. I'm with a bawwww thread you know here and there and some people making friends but when they show up in threads for the reason of only talking to each other and not about the content of the thread, there's a problem. That threads OP is: >Be honest /a/, for the 3rd Madoka movie do you really want a happy end, or are you instead looking forward to seeing them suffer and get a bittersweet end?And nobody is really talking about it, people are posting images and responding to Kroni because just as Kroni is enjoying the attention the others are enjoying feeding it to him. As long as tripfags are contributing to the discussion at end (baring that it isn't off topic) I see no problem with them, but this is a bit much.
>>1786I got some typos in there, my keyboard likes to f me over so sorry about that.
>>1770That's too much for ban-evading tripfags that can be dealt with by just deleting their posts. Yes, I am aware that they are being overall a problem to /a/, but even then, they haven't reached a point where they simply destroy every thread they destroy solely for the purpose of that (see Pork some years ago).>>1785That would not be a bad idea, mainly because I believe on the Futaba Channel's philosophy "If you respond to trolls, you are just as bad as them". After all, if everyone ignored Kroni and other overall annoyances on the board, they would just leave because they would barely be a presence upon the board. But even then, I think that warnings could do the job better. A warning kind of like "stop replying to Kroni - the ban evading retarded tripfag" would do the job better, so people would understand that by giving him attention, he'll continue to be an overall idiot upon the board.
>>1788When park ranger was a problem mods started handing out bans for replying to him. Kroni hasn't reached park ranger status yet and park ranger came about last year, but he's getting there. Most people are annoyed by his posts and his constant posting about how eradicating tripfags will improve board quality and so on and so forth. As for the other tripfags that have been mentioned, I think we need to maybe not ban all of them but keep an eye on them on a situation by situation bases. Saten is a bad one, all that tripfag wants to do is talk about off topic stuff, it craves attention. But there are anons who like that tripfag but also that the same time anons who said that tripfag when it got banned deserved it. Kevin tries to contribute to on topic stuff but many times ends up derailing threads because he says stupid things, he's kinda like Komeiji but dumber. I've never viewed tripfags as being a problem on /a/ as long as they are trying to contribute to the topic at hand. There are many anon posters that are far worse than the tripfags.
http://archive.foolz.us/a/thread/68042515/#68042907We might not have to deal with Kroni anymore
>>1792I'm getting ready to wake up tomorrow to 3 pages of reports under his name.
>>1793And as I say this, I refresh the queue and find more of his shit. Fuck this cunt.
>>1794These kind of posters don't work like that. Now he'll switch to full tripfag mode, and shitpost as much as he can solely for that reason. We'll see how things go. If he gets out of hand it might be necessary to request a ban on his tripcode.
>>1795>ban on his tripcodeNever gonna happen. The worst tripfags are always targeted by inclusion into someone's filter. A hard ban on the code itself is pretty useless, as they can just use another code and do the same damn thing.
>>1796Eh, considering that usually the most bothersome tripfags end up in a tripcode ban, I still think it wouldn't hurt to try, because he's really getting out of hand. Yes, I know that he can just swap the code, but sometimes when you ban the tripcode itself, the guy just might shut up. But anyway, it's better to wait. He still hasn't reached the bottom of the well.
>>1795>>1796I think that if we get to this point (and we might) that we should do a name ban to try and force him to maybe change names or give up all together. Though that never worked with park ranger.
Kroni's trip was made public.
Nagi's trying to post as some other tripfag now. HD. "She"'s already given up. Can people just stop shitposting? Please?
Based onhttp://archive.foolz.us/a/thread/68230466/#68231145, I've started a del-on-sight policy regarding Dutchguy. I'll stop if a mod decides it's for the best.
Stern Ritter is porky/Nagi/MmEw/fuck it I don't really care who, but clearly a permabanned dipshit.
>>1807>Stern Ritter !!ZFjTegtxoOw>!!ZFjTegtxoOwSame trip, it's pork chops.
>>1809>Stern Ritter !!1Xd+5QGsu0wBecame this today,
Some have suggested that this trip: >Bambietta !!R+kWVKSfGp3Is possibly park ranger. Hard for me to tell yet between using the archive (it's clearly a brand new trip) and seeing anon reactions. But it did make an off topic game thread about counter strike.
"If you had a girlfriend, you wouldn't have a waifu.Discuss."Please filter this. Please.
Making a note here that currently /a/ is doing pretty fine. Shitposting is usually ignored by the majority of the users and also reported and off-topic threads barely get any attention. Although it's important to remember that a few people are trying to ruin Chuuni's and JoJo's fanbase (the former having much more success) as hard as they can, by reverse-trolling (making it seem like it's idiots that like the anime), making low-quality posts, etc. The drawfag threads are still experiencing problems with mock and reposted requests, they could use some help. But in general, we have improved over the last accidents that seemed to hit us pretty hard. After going through the archive of /q/, feedback seems to be generally positive, thankfully. Keep up the good work, and stay alert mainly for the chuuni reverse-trolling.
I don't know if the last thread got deleted or not, but I'll be bumping this one since I haven't found it anywhere. It seems that "Free!", the new Kyoto Animation anime created a lot of discussion and controversy on /a/, because of reasons that I expect that you all are aware of. It will be one of the most trolled anime of the whole year, most likely, and I've seen people planning to give it "Naruto treatment", to make sure no discusison about it happens. Unfortunately, I haven't been really available nowadays, but I'll try to help with making sure those threads stay clean. I hope you all make sure that people will be able to discuss this anime without having their fun ruined by some people that either want to watch the world burn, or are just hateful towards the fans of the show.
