Since us /gd/ janitors were supposed to get together to talk about the board but never did, let's just do it this way.

Specifically, there seems to be something resembling a consensus on the board about the sticky needing to be changed, the two main critiques I keep seeing being that 1) GIMP is shit and shouldn't represent the board, and 2) graphic design is more than just using software to make and manipulate pictures.

Also, use this thread to submit possibilities for a new sticky image.

I was thinking we could add a few more rules, in addition to all requests belong on /r/, to the sticky to avoid confusion on certain topics such as:

1. On the topic of piracy you may not request or post links to warez: cracks, keygens, serials, etc, or warez sites; these threads will be deleted immediately.

2. Brony/MLP images, avatars and other works should still be posted in >>>/mlp/, no exceptions.

3. This is a Burichan SFW board, NSFW content will be deleted based on context.

I want to add these in because they are the greatest offenders I've seen reported so far.

As for the sticky image and content, I think the /gd/ community is the best resource for that, I know they're pretty excited and talented to get a better sticky and they've already made quite a few 4chan /gd/ logo designs in the past.

We should also be thinking about adding more links to tutorials on the sticky, much like the one /3/ has, so people can focus threads on more specific content. I've been following a few users who have compiled a lot of external sites they think would be helpful to have on a sticky and it looks pretty promising.

All in all, the /gd/ community seems extremely proactive in making their board a productive place and we should definitely think about nurturing that attitude by having them help us, help themselves.

Yeah the board's shaping up to be pretty sweet, and it's really scratching an itch for me. I think the design community can be really full of shit, so it's wonderful to have a 4chan level of freedom to talk real shit (or just talk shit).

As for rules, I think we need to write a full fucking constitution and every sentence is just "No requests." Because goddamn I can't believe how many people won't read a one-line sticky.

Absolutely, it gets pretty silly.
