Do you suppose any good would come of changing the name of /jp/ to Otaku Community?Culture: The arts and other manifestations of human intellectual achievement regarded collectively. Some Otaku may have some things in common, while others have other things in common, but I'm not too sure that there's anything "culturally" true for all Otaku as a collective."Community" has less of a hive-mind feel to it. Less power-ranking involved as to "who is more misunderstood", etc.'Tis just a thought.
Our problem, which is the rooted shitposter factions, is not going away with rule tweaking or a name change. Things didn't shift dramatically after the Japan/General change after all.How can we deal with the "fugg ur mum" being the standard reply these days? Not sure, I've been trying to increase the quality moderation, but we only fall into the attrition war dynamic and the way that ends is a bunch of innocent posters getting caught in the crossfire and very tired janitors.Anyway, at this point /jp/ is /jp/, it's not really defined by the name or the loose ruleset. Our issues stem from the userbase itself rather than the nomination. So we do our best to keep the enclaves safe and spam to a minimum. Which we're actually doing pretty well in the last couple seasons, we're no longer losing pages every day which I choose to consider a victory.

>>2481>>2482Excellent. Thank you. :3
Okie I think I really like what you did much better than a simple name change.
