The folks over at /lgbt/ have started a series of Generals as a sort of experiment to see if they can contain some things and maybe open up the door to others.I approve 100%.But, it's probably best to keep an eyeball on them. So, this is just a head's up.Lesbianhttps://boards.4chan.org/lgbt/res/426356Gay Menhttps://boards.4chan.org/lgbt/res/426268Bisexualhttps://boards.4chan.org/lgbt/res/426434Transgender split:MtFhttps://boards.4chan.org/lgbt/res/426253FtMhttps://boards.4chan.org/lgbt/res/426301Admittedly I coaxed them a bit, but it's nice to see them taking charge of it all. We'll see how it goes, I reckon.
It would also appear that I can't thread link for diddly. Sorry about that. You can sort it out.
Yeah /j/ seems to link through sys and not direct to the boards.4chan, Im not sure. Lets try this...copy and paste and a 1boards.4chan.org/lgbt/res/426356and a 2boards.4chan.org/lgbt/res/426268and a 1boards.4chan.org/lgbt/res/4264342boards.4chan.org/lgbt/res/4262533boards.4chan.org/lgbt/res/426301
>>2561Well, that'll work then. Thanks!
The Generals don't seem to cause any trouble. I did want to coordinate on some issues though. >Asexual and pansexual threads I believe they should be permitted despite not being specifically lgb or t.>Skype threadsI don't know if this is considered /soc/ content or specifically (as per the rules) categorizes as 'Hook-up', 'rate me' or 'camwhoring'. I don't think they do, but figured it's worth discussing. Personally I don't like the skype threads, but I'm not sure if they break any rules.
>>2580I've been turning a blind eye to the Skype threads if they keep it to just one thread at a time. LGBT is, if nothing else, a community. We can't entirely deny them a bit of socialization. IMHOAs for asexual and pansexual threads, I've been on the fence there. 90% of the Asexual threads have been "y u haet me" crap and that's just annoying. Discussion wouldn't be a problem otherwise, though I don't see how Asexuals would really understand the vitriol and disgust that comes with being LGBT considering we live in a society that praises abstinence.I could be wrong, though.
>>2580I'm also on the fence on pansexual/asexual threads since most end up being not contributive to the board and not really LGBT related, but if it seems to have proper discussion, I allow it.As for skype threads, if the thread turns into hook-ups, camwhoring or otherwise rating, I'll prune as necessary unless it's in too deep. Same for the Steam/PS3/360 username sharing.
What do you guys think of the whole "am I passable" thing as well? I do understand they'd prefer an enabling/trans-friendly environment, but I'm inclined to say it falls under rule 3 of /lgbt/, where it says you shouldn't ask someone to rate you or camwhore, which I feel is happening. I've only been BRing the ones that explicitly say "rate", but in general, I don't like them.Your opinions?
>>2654I've taken the stance that asking for advice and tips from other Trans on transitioning is fine. I delete, but rarely BR the "am I passable" stuff unless it's blatantly obvious "rate me" without asking for tips or whatnot.
Just posting it here that 17 of 165 threads (>10%) have hit bump limit. 2 are on auto-sage.There's a thread about it on /q/, but I would like to suggest a re-evaluation of the bump limit on /lgbt/.Not that it's any of my business or anything.
>>2583I've re-examined my stance on the pan/ace thing, done some research into it all, and sent out feelers among the communities.Looking at the board and its rules, Pansexual/Asexual threads are, in fact, off topic and should probably be redirected to /r9k/. They have no bearing on the LGBT community, which the rules state clearly that the board is for.So, barring a change in rules, the Janitor in me says, "Into the trash it goes."
>>2924I've been Br'ing for off-topic up until now, so I'm glad my previous actions were in line with the great McNuggers ;)
