Every single day there are around 3 people simultaneously derailing threads with genwar bullshit. They spam terms like ''genwunner'', ''hoennbabby'', ''sinnohfetus'', ''unovasperm'', etc. and without fail they succeed in baiting morons to respond. Everyone on /vp/ is tired of this shit. I've been trying to curb it, but it's incredibly hard due to the fact that no one ever reports it, and when they finally fucking do, the thread is already shitposted to bump limit and the bastards responsible for it long ago moved on to destroy another thread.

I'm begging for a variant of /v/'s rule #2 (Flaming/flagrant "fanboyism"/etc. will not be tolerated.) to be created for /vp/. This would make life easier for everyone on /vp/, since now people would actually realize that genwar shitposting should always be reported and janitors would have a ban template for this shit.
>>
Seconding this, normally I would be all for allowing such stuff but as OP stated, it's becoming destructive.
>>
Though I don't janitor /vp/, I do browse on occasion and recognize the need for this, you've got my backing.

Second.
While we're at it, I believe /co/ and /a/ would benefit from variations of this rule as well. I'm aware that it would be technically all be covered by global 3 since it mentions trolls and flames, but we all know that's not a helpful ban message since it covers too much, so the poster isn't even sure of what they did wrong.

I ban "DCasual" and its equivalents without remorse. That shit belongs on /v/ if it belongs anywhere on 4chan.

What's your favorite generation Janitor-kun?

Then someone calls you a "johtotoddler" and it doesn't matter if you try to ignore him, someone else will respond in your place, or maybe even the shitposter himself will samefag. The thread gets immediately derailed with genwar #82226 and NO ONE will bother report it.

Of course, global rule #3 covers trolling, but so it does furry porn, and /vp/ was FLOODED with furryshit until a specific /vp/ rule banning it was made back in February 2012. People then started to report and ignore furry posts, instead of replying to them with ironic shitposting.

We need a rule against genwars, ASAP.
>>
Yeah, the genwars have gotten extremely bad as of late, to the point that even threads that have nothing originally to do with genwars are derailed and derailed fast.

I would second/third/fourth any sort of rule that honestly gets these things back under control, especially with Gen 6 fast approaching. Whether it's a sticky and addition to the rules, specific BR requests, etc, the sooner we get that going, the better off we'll be.

/vp/ has gotten an explosion in traffic (no pun originally intended) and the thread is bogged down with trolling and other things that need to be controlled before October hits and everything goes crazy.

With the release of X/Y the situation has gotten only worse. There was even this one time that someone tried to import drama from r/pokemon.

We really need a rule outright banning fanboyism/genwars.

While I feel that the Genwar debate has only slightly subsided due to Gen 6 coming out (and Gen 6 is the worst EVER comments flooding in) I think it's probably a good time to look over the rules, specific and general threads that are causing issues and how to curb them.

For the most part, /vp/ has a few specific ongoing threads that haven't really vanished and stay on the board at almost all times. Some are more problematic than others and some personally push the bar as well.

I'm sure part of it is having 300 posts when you've got something like a Friend Safari that gets filled up rather quickly but there's got to be a point when enough is enough.

I'd personally argue for a few new BR variants like the following:

No Gen Wars allowed. The suggestion in the 1st post about /v/'s rule #2 seems a valid start there.
A clarification on the rule about streaming/offsite links. (This would also curb/stop threads like Showderp from existing, as it's re-directing traffic offsite and making the /vp/ threads into shitposting/flinging sandboxes.)

Other ideas might be clarifying about stuff like emoticons, avatars, etc, since that's been on the rise with imported users from reddit, gamefaqs, etc. Responsible reporting of posts that are off topic, rule breaking, posts of nsfw/smut in both the draw/write threads and elsewhere might help clarify and clear up misunderstandings on things.

Again, it's just some ideas but I doubt we can just let /vp/ spiral out of control until everything crashes and burns.
>>
/vp/ as of late is only friend safari threads and gen wars. If the /vp/ janitors could get a specific ban template for gen wars that'd probably help them immensely.
>>
The 'GTS Jewing' Generals have devolved to the point of Showderp and have started to get deleted. Considering that the whole idea of these Generals is to put a crap pokemon with fake details (for example, putting up a 0IV Ditto with normal ability as a 6IV Ditto with special ability) for a Legendary, basically stealing.

These have also led to multiple 'giveaways' of 6IV Dittos of which the OP will trade cloned or multiple "6IV" Dittos (which aren't 6IV at all) and receive good high IV pokemon and run away with them.

There are legit giveaways for Dittos and other so-called PokeBank pokemon, so just keep an eye out for them.

Any threads that say they are trading pokemon for legendaries using high IV pokemon via the GTS are likely the GTS Jewing Squad at work.

It's been just about 6 months since X/Y launched, and with some new people on board, it's probably a good time to go over the state of /vp/

The biggest overall issue /vp/ has is just not reporting the stuff that should be reported. Moderation gets blamed when something NSFW is posted but... surprise! No one reports it. If people reported stuff that's against the rules and ignored the shitposters, we'd be in the clear. (of course, that's very wishful thinking)

While measures are being taken against /vp/'s most active shitposter, we've had some new issues crop up as well. Mainly, a ton of new waifu/Pokewaifu threads as well as the advance of the Anime threads. We've had issues with Waifu threads for awhile now, and with new team members obviously comes a higher awareness for what they do. The most common ones are Pokeboy, Pokegirl, Hetero and Pokewaifu (especially Gardevoir, Lucario and Goodra threads for various reasons)

The Anime threads have officially been warned multiple times to keep their weekly episode threads from starting until Thursdays but have also now elected to have a general thread as well. Watch these threads for waifu pandering, especially in regards to the female traveling characters Bonnie and Serena.

There's a lot more issues but I think it's a good time to go over them and discuss solutions to things.
>>
Some of /v/'s rules applying to /vp/ makes a lot of sense.
>>
>>3638
Actually... most of those make a lot of sense. Especially the 'skimming the board before making topics' and keeping everything Pokemon related. Perhaps changing our rule about porn/nsfw and the like to 'any NSFW content related to Pokemon' (which covers hentai, porn, nsfw writings and drawings, among other content)
