This thread is about /tv/ and some of the various issues it has, old and new. One relatively new issue that's been bothering me a bit is a recent increase in "jews!"/stormfront bait threads. I guess they're not far from the type of posts you'd find on /b/ or /pol/ (or maybe /q/ haha). Threads like this, http://archive.foolz.us/tv/thread/36954172/http://archive.foolz.us/tv/thread/36946295/http://archive.foolz.us/tv/thread/36955118/Now you cant really escape from big issues like race on /tv/, whether its a major theme of a particular film i.e. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2024544/ (you should go watch that btw) or some industry related thing like a Mel Gibson meltdown, its a fairly inclusive place. But the sort of threads I linked are, in my opinion, getting pushed and just made to stir up trouble.I mean this thread http://archive.foolz.us/tv/thread/36946295/ has fostered some ontopic disussion that isnt all terrible, but most of it is pretty racist and bad. Iirc Ive seen this thread with that image reposted a dozen or so times over the past 6 months or so, maybe more. It would be nice I hope if the /tv/ janitors (I think there are about 4 including me) and the mods who frequent /tv/ could share their opinions on threads like the ones above. Like what sort of approach they take if they see a thread or post like that that gets reported? On the whole I think I take a pretty laid back approach and adopt a "Take It Easy" policy in general. "Television & Film" is a pretty broad topic, but it does annoy me when certain contentious themes/issues are needlessly getting pushed with the same or very similar "low content" threads. So maybe we could use a thread here to bounce around a few ideas/opinions. Anyway, other hot topics for discussion should probably be-Those thinly disguised actress threads that lead to posts about feet and if they look fuckable-Repost threads -A recent increase in pornstar/actress threads. http://archive.foolz.us/tv/thread/36789013/
Foolz is down for me right now, but I've got a good idea as to the /pol/ threads you're talking about. Unless the OP post is especially belligerent, I usually let them go so long as they actually contain Hollywood discussion and not just stormfront shenanigans. If they get too much of the latter, they get deleted. As for thinly disguised off-topic actress threads: if the OP post can lead to serious discussion, then I let the thread live and monitor it. But if the OP post is pure waifu material and/or the thread becomes a waifu thread, then it gets deleted. If it's obnoxiously rule-breaking content, then the thread gets BRed.The repost threads I'm pretty lenient towards so long as they aren't spammed too much. For example, the "real killer in Seven" thread was fine when it started but now it's just being spammed. If the content that is reposted is actively being altered and is not the clear work of a single poster, then I think it falls under meme creation/board culture and should be left to develop. The pornstar threads... well, I'm sure we've all seen the "/v/ discusses pornography" image. They're almost always civil and only need to be pruned for NSFW images; I leave them alone so long as there's only one-per-day and they aren't continued into multiple threads. That being said, about a week ago somebody started spamming a single pic of Lexi Belle with the text "Who's your favorite actress?" or something along those lines. I was deleting those but moved into BRing it as spam because they've been relentless in reposting them.Overall, I think /tv/ has improved exponentially over the last year. Both the megan and the waifu spammer are gone, and the waifuists have largely gotten the message. So long as we stay on top of the waifu posts (particularly in GoT generals) and content is continuously freshened-up as opposed to reposted ad infinitum, the board should be fine.

If it's obnoxiously rule-breaking content, then the thread gets BRed.Again, pretty much exactly my approach. I tend to leave the reports for this type of thing if I dont have time to check the thread and review them closely.>The repost threads...Yeah Im not so bothered by these in general, and if they attract positive contribution then fine. Its not quite as frequent a thing as it was a couple of years ago tbf.>The pornstar threads... well, I'm sure we've all seen the "/v/ discusses pornography" image. Now thats not necessarily a BAD thing, I think we get some good discussion about adult orientated movies and actors in general (bar the NWS picture lapses), but I worry that the topic is getting pushed a bit, in a smilar sort of way as the "jew" type stuff (though these adult related threads in general are not nearly as bad a thing as the jew/stormfront bait threads)

So long as we stay on top of the waifu posts (particularly in GoT generals) and content is continuously freshened-up as opposed to reposted ad infinitum, the board should be fine. Its taken time but its in a fairly good shape by /tv/ standards. Its an ongoing battle of sorts with the waifu posters. Im quite careful and take time with the Actress posts and that type of content that gets reported. A proportion of users still seem intent on posting the same derogatory shit and turning those threads into piss, whereas some I think are against that approach and just want to post about fashion related stuff and/or film related things. Its a bit of a tight rope.
Global Rule 3>Do not post the following outside of /b/: Trolls, flames, racism, off-topic replies, uncalled for catchphrases, macro image replies, indecipherable text (example: "lol u tk him 2da bar|?"), anthropomorphic ("furry"), grotesque ("guro"), post number GETs ("dubs"), or loli/shota pornography. Keep /pol/ in /pol/. tl;dr: Don't shitpost.-The guy asking the question of if Jews "run the media" doesn't break any rules. He's presenting the theory and took time to write out his thoughts on the matter. He's also not outright shunning Jews. It's related to television & film, somewhat-The one with the image macro just mocking the Jew nose stereotype is unnecessary and I think that would call for deletion, but it's not a huge deal. It's just inflammatory stuff. -The "JEWS FUCKING SHITS" is kinda of a meme that's been going around /tv/. It started because of Mark Wahlberg's "VIETNAM FUCKING SHITS" outburst. Those threads usually die within 10 or so replies, seem harmless to me.Most of this stuff has been around on /tv/ way before /pol/ was around. Most of its a joke. Unless I KNOW it's a pol thread, like I just saw the exact same thread on pol, or it has nothing to do with television & film, then I'll leave it alone. >Take it easy approachBest course of action imoThe actress and waifu threads you brought up are much worse for the board. They clog up the board, and often infect other threads. Because just about every movie or show has an attractive female actress in them, the waifuists are everywhere. People still spam threads of those teenage (or younger) girls from Nickelodeon, Disney, etc. That is the real problem, and has been for a long time, with /tv/. I think people to go /tv/ to discuss what they just watched on tv, in the cinema, etc. Maybe joke around about it a bit, put a 4chan spin on it. /tv/ is not supposed to be about how if you freeze the latest episode of Mad Men just right you can see up the skirt of Don Draper's 10 year old daughter.
