I was able to type this message during a small window of my PC actually working, but I'm still running tests and I don't know if I fixed the problem yet. My cat has been missing for the past few days so I've been doing rounds and searching the area every few hours. How pathetic it is that a grown man is a blubbering emotional wreck over a missing cat and that cat being said grown man's literal best friend aside, I need to take a few days before I can get back in to my duties here. I just want my friend to come home, and until either that or I've gotten my head around the fact that she's likely dead, I won't be much use here. They've been closed since I first really started looking and I only got over to speak to people there this afternoon. A woman there said thursday night she took a cat matching my description to a shelter about two hours away. My Muffin has this defect. Before we got her, she had broken her leg and it healed at a strange angle, bit of a hop to her run, but otherwise fine after all this time. I called the shelter and asked about her, and they say yes, we have a cat matching that description, but she's in surgery now having that back leg amputated. The woman implied that there was an animal abuse aspect, but that's not the case at all. I love all the barn ccats and feed them every night and make sure they're all safe in the barn and close it up if it's stormy or anything. But the half crippled cat was, is, literally my best friend. So now, it looks like if it is her, I will have to pay whatever for the amputation. As well as the chance that they may send a raid of some kind to steal all my animals away from home. I am not in a good place anons. If any of you happen to have a blog with wide readership that includes a heavy cat person demographic, I could really use your help. From my point of view, these people stole my friend, drugged her, cut off one of her limbs, and are holding her for ransom. Anyone else think that sounds like a south american cartel? Cause that's how it feels from my perspective. Apologies for the ramblings. I could really use some meme magic to bring back my friend.

We often see these stories about how our collection of internet misfit communities here is the moral equivalent of a sewer, but that's not been the side of the community I've seen in the well over a decade on and off I've been here. I see the parts like this where anons are all wishing me well and offering suggestions and support. I've seen those in personal troubles being told by anons strangers that they will be prayed for. That's not to say we all haven't seen darker sides or meaner words, but it seems when there's something serious, we can sense it and do react in a human way. Despite the reputation of this place as represented through other media, 4chan often only shows me the best in humanity.
