just what the title saysthis is the notes file I've been using and updating for about a yearplease note I started on /vg/ and added /d/ so some notes may be more relevant to certain boards than othersgeneral:tend towards the more specific rule and template when possible!refresh the report page regularly, not just when you finish it or have looked at all the threads; no more than ~20 minutes between refreshes"too early" for a general is before bump limitBR's give an automatic 15-minute mute to the poster, but their milder cousins don'tremember there's a 4chan.org/bans page, it lists some recent bans and gives insight into what's ban-worthyglobal 1:most types are PERMANENT, generic type is 30 daysuse the appropriate template!drawn stuff does not get a BR for 1! every flavor of 1 is for photographs, just different variationsalways tell someone about a 1 and try to consult beforehandbestiality gets temp 1if someone links an outside website that has normal pictures of underagers, don't use 1; probably do act thoughif something has a bunch of erroneous reports for this, tell someone; if it's just one, deal with it normallyglobal 2:30 daysbe careful with this oneglobal 3:1 daythe criteria for 3 are not the most obvious, tend towards 6drawn kid stuff can be BR'd under 3"reply to this or else" warrants a 3if a bad post is BR'd and later found to be spam, it may go hereany sort of checking and rolling fit under 3b ("dubs/get")dead bodies can go here if off-topic, if on-topic use 5 or better yet ask someonecaption, denial, and fiction threads on red boards go under 3a ("garbage outside of /b/"); entire full conversations that have taken root warrant a move to /trash/global 4:15 day external, 5 day internalany personally identifiable information (e.g. phone number, e-mail address) for anyone that's not a public figure goes here, regardless of source or intent(1/3)
global 5:3 dayslewd on blue boards is a definite BR, use 5lazily censored porn (lines, images) is still a 5exceptions can be made for slight infractions that are on topic/in a thread where it's expected (e.g. nip slip discussing hentai games in SFW hentai game threads)highly suggestive near-nudity, male or female, can go hereglobal 6:always gets a warninglow-effort shit falls under thisposts like "stfu @4375245657" go herereplying with partial digits or intentionally broken backlinks also applies"look I quoted everyone" goes herecombos are #6incomprehensible babbling fits herefanfiction talk can go here when it's more about that than the actual topicglobal 10:3 daysonly use reposting/spamming/flooding templateonly use for fairly mean-spirited, obnoxious, and abundant examples-- not just a few!when you do use it it's good idea to mark multiple posts to make it more clear, but not more than 3 or 4-- or just link them in chatglobal 11:use sparingly for adsbegging goes hereglobal 12:may be worth a public ban, so be careful with itglobal 13:3 daysremember it's there, especially for things that otherwise look innocuous; look for similar postsglobal 16:not enough images for an NSFW thread goes herewarning only for this one!(2/3)
(3/3)/vg/ 1:off-the-wall shit can go heretalking about posters goes hereself-fragging talk can go here, but tell people about it regardlessposts that are just ranting can go here/d/ 1:RP in large amountsposts to clear:if it's definitely not breaking any rules, definitely clear it!if it's not breaking any apparent rules, probably clear it!clearing is good!waifu wars are not ban-worthy, and usually not even delete-worthycropped porn is no big deallinking to Discord, Twitch, YouTube, etc. isn't necessarily worth taking action-- but it is if someone's profitingif a post is cleared, the report details are lostwarnings:warn requests should be the first response you go towarn requests don't give an automatic muteposts to delete:keep an eye out for OP fighting when generals are concerned-- clear one, delete the rest, don't BR unless there's other shit going onif someone's asking for posts to be reported, just delete itnon-English posts go here, or ask a mod to warn for things that have no discernible post content can go herepasta that's not relevant or is being spammed goes here or under 6and good luck to all the newfriends we got recently!
Here's my definitive guide to jannying /v/90% of the ban requests are going to be for not vidyathe other 10% pornthe other 10% fanboyism on crying wojacksyes I know that's 110% deal with it mathnerds
What happens when the mods wipe a user, and what needs to happen to request that from the mods?
>>7077All of their posts get deleted. This may (I believe) be all of their posts either in a single thread, on a specific board, or across the entire site - it depends on what is being wiped and why. As for requesting it, if you see something that's probably being spammed, or if you see someone with (a) pending BR(s) and a lot of shitty posts, then you can ask for them to be wiped. Just ping a mod or two. Worst that can happen is that they just say no, the user doesn't need to be wiped. Obviously don't go asking for this all the time, but don't be afraid to ask for it if you think it would be useful.
to clarify about suicide posts, I guess I never added it to the file, but you should always tell a mod if it seems like it's not a joke, because per site policy (and probably for legal reasons) we have to give them a specialized ban message with a suicide hotline number and if it is real then it's obviously time-sensitive
>>7080Get a mod to custom ban it. We like to add a suicide hotline number for the country of the poster if we can.If no mods are around and some time has passed then use GR3. We don't want the thread to stay up too long because anons will start encouraging OP
>>7076Unironically this
>>7073according to a mod:>GR3 is 3 days (except guro, which is 1 day), GR4 is 14 days, 5 day intra.
>>7504guro is a 1 day global. dubs is 1 day local. everything else in GR3 is 3 days global
