[Rules] [FAQ] [Fringe Guide] [Ranks] [/fringe/] [/asatru/] [/edgy/] [/4chon/] [/lel/] [/ask/]
RIP freedomboard.kirara.ca.
SERIOUSLY GUYS STOP BREAKING RULE 2
The rules are simple and only apply to the creation of threads on /fringe/: 1. Don't make duplicate threads of topics that already exist unless the previous thread has hit the bump limit. 2. Don't make threads just to ask questions, actually present substantial information if you're going to make a thread. 3. Don't make a thread purely to shitpost (you will be forgiven if it's a major GET), just shitpost / loosh farm inside of threads that already exist. 4. Post threads that fall under the subject matter of /fringe/ (creepypasta FYI generally does not fall under /fringe/'s very broad subject matter, look at the sticky to see what subjects we discuss on /fringe/)

'The Culture Wars', seemingly the present format of war for resource & territory within The First World, is cause for observation.

I am beige. I contemplated starting a new board for discussion and maybe this will happen in time, but for now I would like this thread to serve as the arbiter on the matter of the fabric of The Culture Wars.

As neutral observers, we sit apart from The Culture Wars, but we are hedonistic in our indulgence of the fabric of the wars. We sense them unfolding and are irrevocably drawn to it. Here we will discuss its existence within the online format. The quasi-telepathic.

Presently The War exists within 5 distinct realms:

1) American Politick. This can be represented by /pol/ and by the black activism on Twitter.

2) Feminist Rhetoric. This can be represented by KotakuInAction and ShitRedditSays.

3) Masculinity Crisis. This can be represented by TheRedPill. This is not to incite TheRedPill rhetoric, but to observe the otherwise isolated discussion of this specific ideology.

4) Human Identity. This can be represented through discussion of Identity Politick. A human facet of Us vs Them. A strategy for resource gathering and territorial claim.

5) The future of The Culture Wars. Hypothetical possibilities welcome.

Again, this is not a /pol/ tier thread, and frankly it is not quite /fringe/ in that it is based in reality. This is the reality of The Fabric of Culture, which is perceptible and delicious to review.

This isn't really any different on a fundamental level than war in the past. It's useful to give this topic a treatment from a memetic perspective.

War arises due to the content of people's minds and exercises natural selection on the contents of these minds. It's just that nowadays, with mass media and various cultural developments, these mental programs can fight to replicate more vigorously than ever before.

Each of the memetic agents in the five domains you listed have several elements in common. For instance, /pol/, TRP, feminism, and identity politics all have to do with identity and relationships, which are fertile memetic breeding grounds. Each of these schools of thought also considers itself a minority, perhaps oppressed in some way, and existentially relevant. This is all because these are the kinds of ideas that have sustained presence in a human mind, and make strong imprints when they're transmitted/reproduced.

This is more /fringe/ related than you might think. What you learn on /fringe/ is memetic material. Fringe ideas reproduce via exactly the same means, plus more.
