The best way to start is simply to act. Being part of Vamachara, it highly discourages literature and study, seeing as it's associated with the Brahmins and Aghori is all about breaking convention. It got to be way too much for me (where I was seriously afraid I might have to kill someone), but if you want to learn a lot of spiritual shit really fucking fast and push your courage to the limits, this is definitely the way to go. Rest assured, it is a legitimate path and you will remain safe and protected all throughout so long as you can sustain it, but I do warn you it is not for everyone and it will take you to places you would never have thought of going.

There is one thing I would recommend, and that is a documentary called "Aghori: Living with the dead" That is the documentary that turned me onto it and I even got to meet the guy in the video, but that will show you what you should expect at the very least, but it gets really really crazy the more you're willing to take.

Actually, this very thread is a perfect introduction, because if you become an Aghori, the very first thing you'll notice is people will become terrified of you. This is because you are exposing all the fears they are under the illusion of, which are the very ones you're defeating. You could consider this my karma, because I would have been in the same situation had I stayed on this path (which is why I'm trying to do what I can to help.) You can expect to be put in mortal danger, you can expect to break every written law, and you can expect to lose everything and anything along this path. Complete psychological breakdowns are possible.

This is not easy. I won't say any more because 1. I am still new to this myself 2. it needs to be a surprise, and 3. ultimately it is up to you to decide what you want, but I think at the very least you should be warned that this will be overwhelming at first, and that's perfectly fine. If for any reason you feel like it's not for you, you are being taken too far, too soon, or losing yourself in it, take a break and find your grounding. It's very easy to take this way too seriously or get carried away with all the power that comes with it (another thing it has in common with chaos magick)

Once you feel that this is the path that you have chosen, everything else should follow on its own, and speak for itself. You will come into contact with all the right people and forces that will guide you along the way.

It hates rationality, so don't try to explain it in terms of theory. That's probably the one constant I can say. Do not try to explain any of this. Let it do the explaining for you. Only when it feels wrong to you should you interfere.

More weird shit is happening and spiking paranoia bursts which I'm then disowning and draining and going back to not being paranoid but then more shit happens and I'm wondering just what the fuck is going on and what or who is messing with me and I make these connections and see these amazing "coincidences" and then I just try to put it out of my mind again and try not to jump to any conclusions. Lately I feel the stickiness of thoughts. I feel thoughts and thought currents come to me and stick to a certain degree, sometimes they get a bit of a lodging and get charged up and ruminated for a bit, then like I've been dazed or something I suddenly catch myself as if I'm seemingly acting out something that someone else put on me and I throw the whole thing off and make an effort to get out of the focus of whoever is sending the thoughts to me and to tune back into the kind of state I get in where I'm excited and I'm doing magick or reading through one of the books and I feel powerful and optimistic and so on.

Today, yesterday, every day of the week now I am intensely aware of being in an ocean of thoughts and receiving all kinds of things from various people. I feel the mental influences of people who only see me out in public just walking around, people I talked to, people online who are thinking about me, etc. and sometimes I get hit really heavy by someone's fantasy or obsessive thinking or whatever directed at me and it's quite something, it's really intense.

I have a very strong awareness though of myself as a spirit and that I can make any thought or condition my own by connecting to it and taking it in / being possessed by it / resonating with it. It's quite a vortex-struggle, a constant battle to prune out and shoo-off whatever is undesirable coming my way or that is part of my own programming and soul at present but needs to be revised so I can find poise/balance/virtue again. The way I experience reality right now so strongly aware of the activities of the mental plane alongside that of the physical plane, it's such a very different way of experiencing life…

That is not so, not for every sect being part of Vamachara at least. I'm very much into Tantra myself (mostly Kula and Kaula, but they are part of Vamachara too) and scriptures are considered a vital part of the teaching.

The thing is - I know that to learn true Aghora I'd have to travel to India, learn the language and meet Aghori guru and be taught by him, but yeah, that isn't very likely to happen.

I know that Aghori don't value scriptures and there isn't any "Aghora manual" but I hoped you can prove me otherwise.
