Anons, can we start a mexican (or other south america;s, including amazonian indians) occult thread, you know, the one mixed with catholic beliefs, santa muerte cult, orisas, their wizardy? I don't know a lot about that, but I know there are a lot people of south america really believe in occult and magic, it's like popular thing there, so it must be intresting.
ok go

I'm brazilian, and I've known some people who follow african inspired religious traditions.

One of them was a very poor boy, he grew to the point of being indicated for some of the most important positions in the country. One day of the week, I think it was wednesday, he'd wear all very light colors, white with some yellow details. It was said that was a part of an candomblé entity with which he made a pact. I never understood how would an entity have any advantage for such a simple thing as the colors of the clothes.

The rituals are almost like parties, with dance and drinking, some mediums have their body taken by entities who dance and drink together. There's also sacrifices of chickens and goats to the gods.

Practitioners of candomblé refered to voudon as the "evil" version of their religion. One guy told me that this very powerful voudon wizard made parties where he would have spirits enter into dead rotting bodies and dance.
