[Rules] [Moderator Log] [FAQ] [Fringe Guide] [Ranks] [/fringe/] [/asatru/] [/edgy/] [/4chon/] [/lel/] [/ask/] [Fringechan]
The rules are simple and only apply to the creation of threads on /fringe/:
1. No duplicate threads of topics that already exist unless the previous thread has hit the bump limit.
2. No making threads just to ask questions, actually present substantial information if you're going to make a thread.
3. No creating new threads purely to no-effort shitpost (you will be forgiven if it's a major GET).
4. Post threads that fall under the subject matter of /fringe/ (creepypasta FYI generally does not fall under /fringe/'s very broad subject matter, look at the sticky to see what subjects we discuss on /fringe/).

HotPocket Edit: The BO of /fringe/ has no control over this "fringechan" and is not an admin there. It is not the official board and may be regarded as a fall-back board for if 8chan goes down completely.

HotPocket Edit 2: The BO of /fringe/ is now admin over there and is in contact with the man who hosts the site (who is aryan af btw)

freedomboard revival – http://fringechan.org

The time has come. It is finally done.

We have worked hard to replicate what freedomboard originally offered. We have spent effort importing most of the important threads by hand.

It is time for us to migrate to place we can truly call home. No more stability issues. No more waiting for hotwheels to fix his shit. No more privacy leaks. No more sluggish update times. No more double posts, or posts not comming through. That's all history now.

We present to you; http://fringechan.org/

Status

Moderation team assembled and expanding.

Flags imported and expanded.

Styles imported and improved.

Rules imported and improved.

All that remains for importing is YOU.

For those who question, the project started out from >>66458 and >>67255

Pic unrelated; we are still working on a alternative icon/logo.

nipkike that wants to sell our info to ZioNWO will be mad that he doesn't have monopoly of chans now.

Nips are rooted in Buddhism, Shintoism and have a firm understanding of magic - Think he'll dare to DDoS it?

Great, finally out of this broken imageboard.

fringechan.org will remain a safe haven, out of harm's reach. If they intend to DDoS we will have preventive measures, cloudflare for example.

>>68485

Yes. Even if any technical issue would arise on http://fringechan.org/ its not the end of the world. We have dedicated webdev's onboard.

This, we have almost no moderation here what so ever. It's amazing we actually get a new question thread from time to time.

The shitposts and 1 post question threads run rampant.

On a side not, every one's favorite hidden board is back you have to remote view the sticky to get the username/pass

Talking in the IRC with them right now, they are very reluctant to give me any power, and they are taking over control of /fringe/ making decisions themselves and I am afraid they are going to be big hotpockets.

What we are is simply trying to insure that the community is in safe hands, hands that actually will constructively guide and allow for the cultivation of the community. Hands that, from here, have been absent and seemingly uncaring.

We simply want to be sure we, as /fringe/ wizards, can secure a safe virtual homeland and a future for neophytes to come.

 No.68543

By using the current infinity system 8ch has, wouldn't fringechan have the same problems as 8ch? Or is it just the massive traffic that was causing the problems?

 No.68544

I was hoping the transition would go smoothly.

There is a serious risk that /fringe/ gets divided now. Please don't allow that to happen.

I admit i am new here. I lurk here for just about 3 weeks.

But i see a big problem here.

I am afraid that some will migrate and others will stay.

Or maybe i am wrong. But i am worried

 No.68545

It ain't fringechan if it's run by the new age hippies that have infiltrated lately.

And there is a difference between freedom of speech, and letting the shitposters run rampant and destroy good, well though out content, due to a lack of intervention.

>And there is a difference between freedom of speech, and letting the shitposters run rampant and destroy good, well though out content, due to a lack of intervention.

Sounds like "muh hatespeech" rhetoric. We can move posts, lock duplicate threads and question threads, let the auto-purge feature take out threads with less than 10 replies at page 5, increase board pages to a thousand, etc.

Shitposters should be free to shitpost all they want as long as it's replies. Only moderating needs to be done is towards newly created threads.

 No.68555

I don't want to move away from 8chan ;_;.

 No.68558

I'm just going to stay on 8chan and go back to my magick, I don't have time for all this shit, my first priority is my own soul. /fringe/ as it is here on 8chan is fine and the catalog issue will probably be fixed later on. I also prefer /fringe/ be on a site like 8chan where it gets to be up there with all these other boards and close to people instead of shuttled away in a hugbox. I'm going to resume my practice of psychomancy and energy-work and several other things now.

As I said before, we're not attempting to censor anything at all. Deleting CP aside, we just want to move pointless-newbie-question-thread-OPS into the appropriate question threads where they belong.

>>68554

I understand the hands off of freedom of speech, which is our philosophy as well. However that does not mean we should let the ignorant and the foolish destroy what we have build. We need to guide them

You're attempting to claim hate-speech based censor ship, which, for the record is totally false and baseless, we have never done anything of the kind, and you use that as an attempt to smear us for actually using moderation (in a totally non censoring way!). And furthermore as an justified excuse for in days or weeks inaction when in is very sorely needed to foster growth. You need to sort out the weeds (and at least segregate them).

>Only moderating needs to be done is towards newly created threads.

Which I have not seen any actions done to this end in months, and is one of the things we are going to remedy.

>>68558

>hugbox

Again with the baseless insults. I really would have expect more of you Smiley, for as much spiritual growth as you (claim?) to have.

I truly do wish to see /fringe/ thrive. The undeniable fact of the matter is 8chan is falling and even if it does stay up it will turn into a honey pot as we've already seen with the IP tracking for all actions, and sooner or later it will go full 4chan-shillbot-tier.

I wist to see a place where magic is taken seriously, studied and researched. A place where we, as enlightened magic folk can bear witness and be the midwives of each other's spiritual awakening.

I have seen far too much good, very good, content be washed away by the tides of trolls, indifference, and general (site wide) incompetence. I declare fringechan shall be a brilliant beacon of consciousness/magic in the dreary fog of mundanity in this world.

I would like to have all interested people contributing, helping, and growing with one another, even Smiley, however he needs to get over his ego and realize this thing, while he may have started it, like any child, grows into it's own, he can not sit there like Saturn eating his children, eternally afraid that they may grow beyond him one day.

One way or another the tides of time shall tell the immortals and the greats from the fools and the plebeians. I call to all my brothers and sisters now, if you see what I see, if you feel as I feel, and if you would seek as I seek, then I ask you to stand beside me.

Make /fringe/ great again

 No.68576

I like it but one problem.

Cloudflare makes it hard to post from Tor. I'm asked to fill out a stupid captcha every 2 minutes, even when just switching pages or opening a thread. Reminds me of the imageboard which shall not be named.

Who cares how he acts, he has a track record of being a good admin, and doesn't hotpocket people. Hey smiley.

What about that Tulpa thread? Remember that?

And that vore thread? That vore thread has been here for a really long time. Almost at the beginning of the new 8chan /fringe/.

And also this new-ish thread: /fringe/res/67601.html

Sexual content right there at the top.

How are any of these things wizardly?

And none of these were removed.

 No.68599

>>68596

No it's not. The only real issue 8chan is faced with right now is this catalog issue and besides that the board is doing fine. You are attempting consensus-cracking right now in an effort to subvert the board and steal people away from it. This has been done by various people hundreds of times now, with many alternatives to /fringe/ being created, and all of them failing. There are mods here on /fringe/ all the time and the questions threads keep being remade, sometimes not instantly, but quick enough; they do have to sleep and do other things in their life. More janitors also can be added if more hotpockets are really needed, easily, without creating a new board.

Your group clearly disdains the founders of /fringe/ and can't be trusted. As this anon ( >>68586 ) said: "this seem more like a power grab rather than a benevolent transition."

That poster you are responding to there is not me.

What about the tulpa thread? It generated a lot of discussion so it was left alone. Sometimes if a rule-breaking or shit thread isn't caught fast enough but happens to randomly generate very interesting responses, we just leave the thread alone.

Vore? Do you mean the guy with the giantess fetish? That lead to some amazing stuff and I'm glad he shared his experiences, even if they are not to be emulated, he made himself into a guinea pig of sorts for some magick most people would never ever do.

>>67601

Oh it's the "wrong" kind of managing, you just want the things you dislike removed!

Why the whining about lack of management, then?

You, and the implied many anons along with you (but still not enough people to fill a chan's userbase? Lmao smh) are a lying shifty kike.

I don't get why people should move there if you're not even specific about the extent of your moderating

>I understand freedom of speech, but we're superior masters that need to control everything

>sexual content isn't wizardly (why?), I don't like it, it isn't being removed, ree

>lack of management drives people away, I wish to see /fringe/ thrive through hotpocketing

Smileyberg is simple about his deal: here's a limited set of rules, spelled out clearly, if you transgress you get banned. Always been consistent, if you've been here "since /fringe/'s creation" you'd know this.

If so many people hate smiley, why aren't they enough to fill up your chan, why the need to shill? And while we're at it, why use the name fringechan? Why do you need to keep smiley's legacy going, while shitting on him?

 No.68607

So it's a log, any one with eyes could see CP on the catalog for days, they can see the errant topics poping up usually for a single question, time and time again, in direct oppsition to the rules. Not even so much as a warning.

>>68599

>consensus-cracking

I have done nothing of the sort. I post with this flag and I never shillposted anywhere on here. I am strictly STO and I do only want what is best for magical research & spiritual growth online.

Why don't you actually ask the anons yourself in the chat?

I have no disdain for any one and I didn't even know any of the 8/fringe/ admins personally prior to today.

Regarding mods, I would assume any even half decent mod would at least spend 5 minuets a day, this would be more than enough to sweep the CP away, and make a new questions thread, yet it takes sometimes 3 or 4 days, why? Do you honestly consider this an acceptable level? I know they have lives, but according to that log there at least 7 different people. That is quite absurd in my honest opinion.

Why do you give a shit about the CP so much? It's always the same pixelated blurry shit that is easy to ignore and hide. Personally, CP doesn't bother me.

3 to 4 days (>implying it ever actually takes that long) is perfectly acceptable, it's way faster than most sites on the internet, where CP stays up for months

By now this one is broken and everybody refuses to fix it, the next one is broken, they spent large amounts of money on it and aren't able to fix it. Nobody wants to say it was a bad idea and the money was thrown, and so there's this stalemate where shit is broken in here and never getting done in there.

You can see some boards, /sp/ completely moved, /cow/ lost more than half the userbase. 8chan is working really bad right now, no expectations of it working better should be made.

Nor can Franz Bardon, nor can various mediums I've met myself who are perfectly capable of healing others of really fucked up diseases, but can barely fix anything in themselves. It's just how shit works. He probably won't get better until he finds another healer to work with so they can work on each other.

>Smiley is a shit leader who gives a poor example to neophytes. Smiley is pretty much the example of spiritual stagnation.

He's in it for the long-run and he's struggling with some very intense issues, give him time, and he will be the most powerful wizard here; he has to be in if he is to survive. He also is extremely well-read and knows how to point people in the right direction and is a great greenpiller. I don't think he's stagnant, he's been at it for 3 years, and he once in awhile does demonstrate his power though usually in other places like /4chon/.

>>68623

>While I am STO, I still do regularly help out STS, see >>68513 because I know each has their own path and it's not up to me to judge them for it. I aid all, regardless.

That's a convoluted way of saying you judge them and try to convert them and you indeed have a bias. I have even less respect for you in that you aren't even able to recognize your own biases and judgment. We all judge each other all the time and we all have our biases, some just aren't self-aware about it, like you "angel".

He's in this very thread right here: ( >>68585 ). He's been trying to undermine /fringe/ forever because he got really butthurt long ago for being called out on his bullshit occultism.

>Reuse the proof if you like, but if you refuse to investigate the evidence, I reserve the right to throw out the validity of that point you argue.

You have barely anyone on the site. This counter here must also take into account multiple IPs, dynamic IPs, proxies, etc. being used. There's probably about 10 of you in total. I don't give a shit what you traitorous usurpers think, there have been many power-grabs like this in the past, and you're likely the same people as from before.

>If you want cult worship, that's fine, I want 'open source spirituality' a place for everyone to be able to grow.

Regardless of what you say, the site issues aren't stopping me from posting here every day, and communicating to you right now over 8chan. They really aren't that bad. They should just make the frontpage of each board redirect to the catalog temporarily for now until shit is fixed.

Change is the best way to learn and grow. Having a chan without smiley would be a interesting path to go through that will provide newer and fresh results.

Unless smiley can provide a new fringechan to use right now, I'll be going over to the new site as well.

One thing a lot of users have said was that if Smiley was powerful or not. It has been displayed here that he is not working for our best favor.

One anon, Alpam, brought forward this new chan and a new home that will host us.

 No.68662

Here's a summary of what happened so far:

• Smiley is not actively moderating the board for days and weeks while CP ad threads runs rampant every day.

• Hotwheelz and Josh fails to migrate to Next because of laggy code.

• An IRC channel is created by signed. It brings people together and in a short time and there's 16 people and 6 regulars.

• Sagin and Alpam decides that because of the lack of moderation, buggy code at Next, fringe could use a board that is dedicated and free from spam.

• After 4-5 days of running the IRC and 2 days having fringechan.org up, Smiley makes an appearance on the IRC chat as the username Fringe.

This is the chat log:

T 1453328191 19* 19Fringe (461b1f92@gateway/web/freenode/ip.70.27.31.146) has joined ##fringe

T 1453328192 18<19Fringe> Hello?

T 1453328204 18<26RedVex> welcome

T 1453328227 18<19Fringe> Can I be made an admin so I can start sorting things properly?

In less than 30 seconds he wants admin. He hasn't even said who he is. Sagin says:

T 1453330349 31<sagin_denaka>30 idk if boardowner = smiley

T 1453330352 31<sagin_denaka>30 or just another admin

• Smiley makes this post: >>68532

>Talking in the IRC with them right now, they are very reluctant to give me any power, and they are taking over control of /fringe/ making decisions themselves and I am afraid they are going to be big hotpockets.

• Smiley uploads a video on YouTube of him filming his computer screen.

• Internet drama commences and indigo pill joins in on the conversation.

• Astral insults were had.

Here's a plan of what should happen:

• I will talk to Smiley.

• There was an original plan to grandfather him in, but not as an admin (yet).

• Everyone wants to confirm his level of commitment since he wrote this: >>68558

>I'm just going to stay on 8chan and go back to my magick, I don't have time for all this shit, my first priority is my own soul. /fringe/ as it is here on 8chan is fine and the catalog issue will probably be fixed later on.

• We want an official domain and page, mature and nourishing for all truth seekers with or without smiley (it's his choice and he should act that part).

Lies:

• OP, owner of IRC bans discussion.

False: I am owner, I have experienced SJW mentality online for way too long. I advocate for free speech.

• BO and volunteers bans threads on fringechan.org:

False: There are very little rules on both the board and the IRC chat. If you want more rules go to 4chan.

Lol… As a student of jurisprudence as well, I can assure you that is false. The only possible basis would be if we slandered him, which we have not, and furthermore even if we actually did, it is debatable over the internet, in an international forum if such a minor thing could even possibly be worth extraditing for.

>1. You'd have everything, since you probably store info.

Logs? Minimal, mostly moderation logs.

>2. You'd not go out of your way to protect someone, especially someone you don't like, from the law.

Not true. We are very pro-privacy, and that aside, we're also STO so therefore we're not gonna victimize or aid in the victimization of people, even if they curse, smite, despise, etc. us.

>Where's the transparency and how are you going to deal with the issues of low population making it easier to identify individuals on the site?

Transparency in what aspect? Regarding low population, if they are worried they can use no flag/the anon flag, that said even on here it's pretty obvious who is who from posting styles and the fact it's rather rare for more than 1 person to use certain flags.

>I'm asking you now to prove you're not a honeypot.

The only way you're gonna get him round the table at this point imo is offering admin, or if 8ch goes down completely (which could go either way). Keep in mind that you can just revoke his admin powers (I mean I presume so anyways)

>hating on ego

Do these mundanes not realize they are not their ego? Leave the ego alone; it's NOT YOU! It's just something you interface with! You don't have to flatten it out or destroy it, it's just there, just like the many other egos all around are just there. There's nothing wrong with the ego. I am above the ego but not in the way of ascribing to a certain set of behaviors that supposedly indicate ego-transcendence but just really, fully realizing, it's something that stands apart from me and there are many egos through which I can and at times have experienced besides this particular one active right now. I accept the ego and don't intend to stop its drives, it is a part of the world, it has its role to play, it is a beautiful crystallization of consciousness. We are watching right now an interplay of egos or "selves / lower selves"; and that is fine.

As for them giving me admin, they should do it because I created /fringe/ and it has flourished under me over the years, steadily growing and attracting more people to it, surviving many assaults and insurrections, and becoming a top board on 8chan. Also because I have a history of neutrality, impartiality, etc. and don't let my own extremist viewpoints be cause to banish people I really don't like. I have a proven track-record of respect for freespeech even when severely tested and put into situations where others would surely begin abusing the mod powers.

There's also nothing wrong with the drive to power, inherently. However they should realize that /fringe/ is always in good-hands with me and that I'm it's founder and they should also be responsible enough to use or not use the powers invested in them.

>Can you see the IPs of who is posting

Yes, we run the same system as 8ch, Infinity. We obviously also use HTTP software to run the system in the first place. This produces an access log which is used to see if there's any attacks aimed at the system, like bruteforcing or checking/using exploits. You want me to stick my head in the sand and basically have no idea what the fuck is happening with my server? That's insane. Its even moreso insane because 8chan uses the exact same setup as I do, with minor differences (they use NginX, for example). We are no different in this regard, and you act as if 8chan is currently in 'good hands' while we all know that is not the case.

>Make it a technological impossibility for our privacy to be compromised.

You are asking the impossible here. Not even do most proxy service retailers make promises like that. The only way for that to be possible is if I hosted the server behind a VPN like Tor (which even then is possible to get fucked over with; see Silkroad and others). I already delete the access log periodically, but to completely change the Infinity software to not include functionality regarding IP's here, and thereby turning my server into a safe haven for child pizza and other illegal stuff is idiocy.

>Where's the transparency

>I'm asking you now to prove you're not a honeypot.

What do you want to see, or know?

>8chan's problems are overstated and I'm sure they will be fixed in time

I doubt you still think the same now. Its in a bigger mess then it was before. Have you followed what was said on the stream? Have you checked the poll?

> I'm sure your site would crash even harder if it had the same loads to deal with as 8chan.

What does this have to do with anything, really? I'm not hosting an alternative to the whole of fucking 8chan. Its called fringe for a reason.

That would bring us down to just 3 boards ( /fringe/ - /loosh/ - /archive/ ) + the secret illuminati board.

I'd also make some new CSS. I've been wanting to make some changes to the CSS for awhile but was waiting for Next before doing so. I'd ask then (as I already have) for the default CSS for the board to be something other than Yotsuba.

Why would I undo the moving of posts to their proper board and as for the sticky why do you think it needs to be edited constantly? Sometimes it gets edited multiple times in one month, sometimes it's just fine as it is for several months straight.

I already did a video of my room, posted with board owner thing, etc. I don't know what else he wants. If he doesn't realize it's me at this point, it's because he's utterly clueless as to who I am; or he's just pretending he doesn't realize that I am who I am.

He btw has a really shitty computer and can't even call me over Skype and Tox didn't work either. The only way he can communicate with me is via text. Why should it have to be done in some IRC and not on the boards? Why "in private" instead of in public?

I don't understand how this guy doesn't realize I am who I am. If he knows so little about me that what I've already shown him "doesn't prove anything" then he probably has no way to verify who I am since he has no idea "who Smiley is to begin with". What kind of proof is he looking for? I've shown him my room. I've made posts on my youtube channel. I've posted as board owner on here. I can talk to anyone over my Skype account "Fringe Wizard". I can talk to anyone over my gmail account FringeWizard@gmail.com. What kind of verification is he even looking for?

>>68921

They'd have to be very confident in their abilities of remote viewing, vibeomancy, or whatever else techniques they use for sensing out an individual's signature.

>>68953

What use is being a mod? I like to deal primarily with stuff like stickies, board settings, board pages, appointing board volunteers, making sure board volunteers don't make mistakes in enforcing the rules, unbanning people, and other things an admin does. A mod merely enforces the rules which I do as well from time to time. I can also change or update the rules as I see fit though mostly I have just them as is and I also listen to feedback from people, consider what they have to say, and decide for myself to change things based on their feedback.

I've never really had access to the coding level of things both on freedomboard (handled by Stal) or 8chan. If I did though I'd go over code and find errors to fix and submit changes.

As for being a total retard who ruins the board by abusing powers, I have a vested interest in maintaining my kingdom, and looking after the prosperity of my subjects, etc. and though I don't grovel to others who would try to slander me I still have something of a reputation as a good ruler even if some people don't like how I remain very hands-off or get angry overall /fringe/ has thrived under my reign. *tips crown*

If you aren't willing to come to the new chan, even though it appears a lot of people are moving too, then I see no reason to stay behind for you. That is what I meant by "it's for the better."

>>69157

The mods are probably not used to moderation and are overreacting to stay ahead of the game. But you shouldn't be surprised that you are being punished for "shitposting" (I don't think it really is) by a different moderator team with different views on content.

In other news, I still can't post there because my browser isn't sending referers and my theme keeps being reset, leaving me to believe it's not just a small error that'll go away.

Hey, pride yourselves on shitting on me all you want, my personal magnetism is higher, and I'm trying to inject some life into your board, but the way you're reacting is just bringing to light what kind of future you are pushing for /fringe/; one with stricter moderation and mods hunting posters around from their mod panels.

 No.69177

Seriously on here nobody can be banned for posting an image and there is no rule against what images you can post (CP aside, that being handled by global mods when they are global reported). If board volunteers feel like spoilering something they can at their discretion but they aren't supposed to tell posters to not post certain images just because they might be obscene or offensive. Lets see if they crackdown on that painting.

Well thanks for pointing out something I never clarified properly there. That part has to be rewritten then so there can be no misunderstanding. It doesn't refer to shitposting like a madman replies to an already existent thread.

I was hype for the new board but it's a little bit hotpocket.

I'll be posting a new Skype in a few hours (anyone is free to add me) and I hope to be talking with the mods of new site, I want to discuss the rules with the board owners and suggest a more liberal approach, such as it is on 8/fringe.

It fosters better debate better, more amusing environment and bord culture.

I'm not coming with personal demands, the community is doing great as it is.

About the alleged hotpocketing, it's pretty much the same rules as on here don't spam, don't make threads only for simple questions. I don't see where all the buthurt is comming from tbh.

I can see the quality of 8/fringe/ has really dropped in the last half year and you have all the spam issues, losing good threads, etc. I see nothing wrong with the new fringe and plenty with 8chan as a whole and this board.

As an experienced remote viewer, let me tell you, you (or the person he was quoting) don't know jack shit about remote viewing.

Enjoy having zero success.

 No.72954

>>72932

Remote viewing or astral projection or televisualization is simply moving your awareness to another bit of reality, somewhere not in the same place or perspective as your physical flesh to obtain data or sensory information. If you can't access part of reality simply because of an arbitrary belief limit you have, that's your problem.

 No.73000

>>72954

Unless you're within protocol (and one of the requisites is being blind to the target, which RVing the sticky would violate), you can't call it remote viewing.

You're free to call it astral projection or televisualization though.

Although, if you are using "remote viewing" and "astral projection" to refer to the same thing, it's clear to anyone who has done both that you have still to experience one of them.

I'm not even trying to stir your shit up at this point. Judging by your use of the terms, you are not there yet. Keep up the good work.

Protocols? This is over semantics? Oh my…

You're fucking edgy moron and you have no fucking idea of what you're talking about.

The very people who invented remote viewing established a set of conditions necessary for it to be called that. Otherwise you're scrying or doing divination, but not remote viewing. Unless you learned about the term in some paranormal wiki for teenagers.

You are a shit stain and a joke.

Oh god next thing you're gona say is that someone invented all magical techniques and they all have some limitations assigned to them.

Whatever magical system works for you man but don't push your system of beliefs on other people claiming it to be the only true one.

 No.73459

>>73458

Let me rephrase: the people who invented the term. It is you who is pushing a definition onto a term which was specifically invented to differentiate the kind of self-deluding teenage bullshit you refer to and the organized method the term refers to.

Let me put it simply so that your new age soccer mom tier intellect can grasp it: "remote viewing" is a term that was invented specifically to refer to divination within a very specific methodology.

By using it to refer to muh astral divination and other kiddie bullshit you are only showing how little you read and your lack of discipline and education.
